Our Ceremony

We had the most beautiful sunny day and were able to go with Plan A of getting married outside in the garden of the Glen. We had Reverends Charles and Cheryl Cavalconte as our officiants and we loved them! We personalized the whole ceremony and wrote our own vows. We used "Union" by Robert Fulgham and "Falling in Love is Like Owning a Dog" by Taylor Mali as our readings. They made our guests laugh, smile and cry. Our vows were very special and we wrote them apart from each other. My vows were taken from my first grade classroom and were in the form of "Love is...". My hubs' vows were in the form of 'We work because...". There wasn't a dry eye in the garden including ours! It was a very special time and one I will never forget. Our arbor was made for us by Jon's step-father and it will go in the garden of our new home so we can cherish it always.

Our programs were very simple and I purchased them using the 40% off coupons from Michael's. They are from the Brides collection. I also purchased bubbles from Michael's using a coupon and lots of different black and white ribbon. I simply tied each bottle of bubbles with a fun ribbon tie. They were fun and eye catching!

Our ceremony site was the garden of the Glen Manor House. We wanted something white, airy and simple. We used white garden chairs in a curved set-up and our special white arbor as the main focal points. We lined the aisles in yellow and white rose petals and hung white carnation and yellow rose pomanders with white ostrich feathers from the aisle chairs. I added a few "Reserved" signs for our immediate family and our readers. I think it was perfectly simple! Jay and Melissa from Golden Gate Studios did all of the floral arrangements and rose petals.

Our ceremony musicians were Stringscalm from Boston. Angie is the main contact person and she is an absolute doll. They played everything from Coldplay to Frank Sinatra for us! The parents and the bridal party walked down to a mix of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World". I walked in to "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles and our recessional was "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz!

Our ceremony was only around 25 minutes long but it was the best 25 minutes! My favorite part was when I got all choked up during my vows and I looked around and everyone was crying. I figured I had to be doing a good job to make that many people cry! I love our group photo at the end! It has ALL of our wedding guests in it and something we will cherish always!
